Senior Pastor (#767616) - USA Midwest (IL)


 

We are partnered with a multi-cultural, spirit-filled church to identify their next Senior Pastor. Found in the prosperous South Suburbs of Chicago, this church community is a tightly-knitted quilt of believers from around the world. This is a small, growing congregation of loving, uplifting, faithful people who adamantly seek out the Word and heart of God. With over a hundred years of history, they are a church intertwined with their local community, deeply tied to global missions and united as a family.

We seek a new Senior Pastor to uplift and continue the work being done here in Jesus name. The qualified candidate for this role will meet all of the role’s requirements and key attributes.

 

Job Description

Vision and Direction - The Senior Pastor discerns God’s call for this church and with the aid of the leadership, sets a clear vision and direction for this body.

Organizational Leadership - The Senior Pastor is able to attract, retain and develop church staff and volunteers to reach and exceed their goals.

Fiscal Stewardship - The Senior Pastor works with the church’s leadership to maintain good stewardship of the church's resources.

Teaching - The Senior Pastor is responsible for writing and delivering a sermon during Sunday service, Special services such as Christmas, and delivering prayer messages on Wednesday.

Services - The Senior Pastor is responsible for working with the praise team and other various ministries to set an atmosphere that is inviting and welcoming.

 

Requirements

  • 15+ years in vocational ministry, including some experience as a senior or associate pastor

  • Experience in an elder or committee-led church

  • Cultural and theological identification with the charismatic church

  • Strong multicultural background

  • Education equivalent to a Masters of Divinity

  • Long, verifiable record of integrity

Shepherd - We seek someone who can wrap their arms around this congregation and love them like a family. Someone who has a reputation as being wise, approachable and kind-hearted.

Teacher - ANCC’s Senior Pastor is curious, knowledgeable and pursues continuing education in all aspects of their faith. They are able to deliver a sermon that is biblical, expositional, topical and engaging. They are adept at taking complex principles and breaking them down in a way that is coherent to seekers, new and mature believers.

Leader - The Senior Pastor is a servant leader. They develop and motivate volunteers, staff and members toward a vision for the church, they set clear expectations, recognize talent and reproduce themselves in other leaders.
