Job Description:

Grace World Outreach Church is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, versatile and creative Media Director. Looking for someone who has a passion to coach and develop leadership layers. The Media Director will lead and cultivate a stellar media and production team. Primary responsibilities include overseeing media and technical aspects of worship services, producing and editing video, ensuring high quality online broadcast, creating strong still and motion graphics for church communications, and managing updates on all digital media platforms. Must be a team player and able to manage multiple projects in timely manner. This is a full-time position.

 

We are an Assemblies of God church located north of Tampa. We are multi-racial, multi-cultural, and multi-generational. We host and conduct many events throughout the year.

General Responsibilities

You’ll find new and improved ways to market content through media.

You’ll use your design and/or video skills to produce content that makes sense for a designated media outlet (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc.).

You’ll execute online production design and video needs for the Online Worship Experience.

You’ll work closely with the rest of the Communications Team to identify and explore opportunities for greater impact.

 

Must-Haves

Undergraduate degree or 2+ years of relevant digital experience, including design, video, or both.

High level understanding of popular social networks - design, functionality, users, etc.

Very high attention to detail

Job Summary and Purpose

Grace World Outreach Church is looking for a Media Director who is strong in systems and team building. The Media Director will be responsible for budgeting and ministry planning, training and scheduling volunteers, designing graphics, operating and some installing of media equipment such as cameras, video software, etc.  This person is also responsible for all presentation needs for all services and events held and/or hosted by Grace World Outreach Church.

 

Job Description

Team Development

  • Recruit, train, develop and maintain a team of volunteers for service production, church events, weddings and funerals. Goal is significant depth (3 deep) in all positions you oversee.

  • Provide basic training to other ministries’ volunteers for recurring events (e.g. children’s ministry, small group meetings, youth group, etc.)

  • Lead, inspire and manage team of volunteers while executing their development strategy.

  • Provide spiritual leadership and genuine care for the well-being of volunteer teams.

The Weekend Experience

  • Provide leadership and oversight to all media systems (cameras, video software, media presentation, graphics and Pro-Presenter) for the weekend experience including the operation and maintenance of all gear.

  • Operate as the Production Director ensuring all video elements in the weekend flow are in place and that volunteers are fully engaged and communicated to.

  • Operate as “Broadcast Switcher” or other positions in the team when volunteers are not available to serve. (Ideally this would move to an as-needed or occasional basis as you develop the team)  

  • Provide and maintain a high level of excellence in all technical aspects of the weekend experience.

  • Create new video concepts, graphics for sermon series, special events and weekend worship environments.

  • Maintain all broadcast systems, cameras, graphics and media presentation at Grace World Outreach Church.

Weekly Duties 

  • Attend weekly meetings for weekend services planning and review along with event planning.

  • Attend weekly creative staff meetings, all staff meetings, along with any other meetings designated by your direct supervisors needed to fulfill your job duties.

  • Provide system maintenance and acquisition for all media equipment on campus.

  • Oversee and be accountable for media and technical volunteers for weekend and weekly services and ensure roles are filled, including scheduling and managing volunteers through Planning Center Online keeping it current and up-to-date.

  • Provide spiritual leadership and genuine care for the well-being of your staff and volunteers.

  • Provide assistance to the Technical Director in support of the technical needs of Grace World Outreach Church.

BUDGET & MINISTRY PLANS

  • Oversee and execute the Media budget.  

  • Craft an annual ministry plan for Grace World Outreach Church that clearly communicates vision and sets up the church for future Media Production.

  • Handle all repairs, new purchases and inventory of all media equipment for Grace World Outreach Church.

BROADCAST  

  • Provide video production for services, special events and experiences when needed for Grace World Outreach Church

  • Develop and train volunteers in the area of broadcast such as cameras, shooting videos, broadcast switching, lighting for video.

  • Upload and manage videos and podcast of sermons, services and special events on various apps and streaming systems

  • Assist the Technical Director in the development of technical arts at Grace World Outreach Church.

  • Provide studio audio mixing for church recording projects and Church Online content. 

  • Assist with developing and creating the stage sets for use during sermon series and Grace World Outreach Church events.

  • Provide assistance with system maintenance and development. 

The Media Director must have the following experience and attributes:

  • Catalytic leadership-a high energy self-starter who gets things done and makes things happen.

  • Experience and training in post-production work including non-linear editing, compositing, and motion graphic design.

  •  Proficient in programs like: Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop, and final cut pro.

  • The ability to stay knowledgeable with all current media technology for maximum effectiveness.   

  • Expertise in presentation software and execution; proficiency in video presentation.

  • Experience mixing in a broadcast audio and studio environment. 

  • Proficient with Pro-Tools and other software.

  • Experience with light programing, focusing and hanging.

  • Experience with light installation and design.   

  • Knowledge and skills in stage set building and design. 

  • Ability to trouble-shoot problems which may occur during a service and efficiently recover the service.

  • Proficient in Worship planning and scheduling software (Planning Center Online).

  • Team player – Someone people will follow, but who is also willing to be a great follower.

  • High Capacity Operator - Someone who shows capacity to juggle a lot of balls simultaneously, and enjoys doing so (self-starter).

  • Receptive to change, constantly striving for excellence. 

  • Good communication skills and a people person. 

  • Professional completion of time sensitive tasks related to weekly events and services.

  • Growing understanding of the technical field with the ability to research and recommend the best solution to technical issues. 

  • Proficient in wiring, soldering, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

  • Willing to serve in any capacity at Grace World Outreach Church.
