Central Church in Carroll Iowa, is looking for a WORSHIP ARTS DIRECTOR. We are a casual contemporary church located in Western Iowa. We are passionate about connecting people to the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. Our worship is band-driven. Our music is purposely current. Our team members value excellence. (If you want to make a joyful noise, do it in your shower.) Our goal is to make an undeniable connection with God in our worship. We need a spiritually gifted WORSHIP ARTS DIRECTOR who is our lead worshipper to help us get there.

 

Job Description: Lead Sunday worship (we currently have 3 identical Sunday Morning Services), schedule worship team members, develop and recruit worship team members as needed, program the worship service, work with the Pastor concerning the flow and components of the service, oversee the recording of the service, post the service to the web.

 

MUST HAVES:

Musical skills: You must be good at your craft, be an above average player with the ability to be excellent, be vocally sound, understand the technical side of music, and have the ability to worship while leading others to do the same.

 

Computer skills: We currently use Media Shout for our Sunday Presentations. Google Suite, Office, and Email used as well.

 

Technical skills: At a minimum, a basic understanding of sound gear, projection systems, basic knowledge of stage lighting helpful (we use Jans Vista 2) and media presentation software.

 

Web skills: A minimum of being able to edit and post services to the web.

 

Nunchuck skills: Enough said.

 

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

  • Must have the gift of leading worship – Not interested in a lead singer for a band

  • Able to transition from one song to the next with proficiency

  • Able to play an instrument (guitar or piano)

  • Able to be skilled enough to develop other players

  • Teachable Spirit

  • Wisdom in dealing with people and difficult situations

  • Good people skills

  • Organizational skills

  • Self-starter – requires minimal management

  • Understanding of sound boards

  • Computer skills - must have mad skills

  • Video skills - helpful

  • Web Skills – helpful

  • Drama Skills – helpful

  • Teaching ability - helpful

  • Must bring others skills to the table beyond the worship arena. Additional skills and passions are a bonus.

 

Our Worship Arts Director will work under the direct supervision of our Lead Pastor who has a passion to see people encounter Jesus. You must share this passion. You must have a burning desire to leave an eternal legacy that greatly glorifies God by prioritizing the Great Commission in ways that bring Jesus Christ honor and glory.

 

Your fellow staff members, tech teammates and musicians must respect you, find you reliable and see that you walk with Jesus Christ. You must be able to maintain confidentiality, and refrain from gossip, showing yourself to be spiritually mature and above reproach, demonstrating trustworthiness.

 

You will need to know how to prevent conflict through good communication, and how to resolve conflict in godly ways should it arise. You will help organize and manage the worship ministry, including involvement in the interviewing, and training of potential musicians.

 

You will meet on a regular basis with staff for prayer and ministry discussion/evaluation for your input on continuing to move your area of ministry forward for the glory of God.

You possess personal integrity and an abiding walk of intimacy with God. You will be able to take others where you have personally gone, now are, and are going.

You have an obvious love for your spouse and children (if married and applicable)

 

You truly love people and be an organized person who is bent toward following through. It is vital that you are able to conceive, initiate and follow through with people and processes in the performance of your duties and ministry

 

You are a Godly and effective representative of Jesus Christ, Central Church and the Worship Team as you live your life and fulfill your ministry before the Lord.

 

You walk with God, and are a daily student of the Bible, intentionally putting its teachings into action. You have a good reputation outside the church, as well. You are an example of a person whose life is a manifestation of pursuing Christ.

 

Education, Experience and Qualifications

You are driven but adaptive, continuing to mold and develop your craft into what works for Central Church and what God has called you to do.

 

You are genuinely humble, as demonstrated by a teachable spirit and the ability to work well with others, preventing and resolving conflict.

 

You have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. You have strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated love for people.

 

Priority consideration will be given to Bible college or seminary graduates.

 

A minimum of two (2) years’ proven success in leadership in the area(s) of music in a ministry setting, with proven ability to screen, recruit, train and motivate volunteers.

 

You have a strong track record of being self-motivated, organized and successful with little supervision, yet able to work excellently with the Lead Pastor and other staff and leaders.
