WHO IS HIGHLAND?
Highland is an inviting family of faith, seeking to love, serve, and share Christ with our community in Raleigh, NC, and with the world. We’ve been around over 60 years, and we are expanding our commitment to worship and evangelism as our neighborhood quickly
grows with young singles and families moving in.
Each Sunday, our church community offers two liturgical worship services in our sanctuary, and one modern worship service in our gym. On an average Sunday, you’ll see around 300+ in attendance, representing all generations at each service.
At Highland, engaging and equipping the church for worship and ministry is a top priority. We value excellence in worship leadership, involving a large and intergenerational team of volunteers to create a worship experience that creatively and meaningfully
connects the people to God. At this time, we are looking for a Worship & Technical Arts Minister with enthusiasm and skills to lead music at our weekly modern worship service and oversee our technical team to create excellence in worship production across
all three of our services.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Worship Minister will be responsible for organizing and leading the music for our weekly modern worship service,
The Connection. This includes organizing Planning Center Online to equip, line-up and communicate with vocalists, instrumentalists, and audio/visual teams, as well as running mi-weeknight and Sunday morning rehearsals.
On the Technical Arts Ministry, we’re looking for someone with the ability to develop and lead teams of volunteers who will provide media, audio, lighting, and video during our services each week. This person can build a structure of volunteer leaders who
lead other volunteers in the setup, troubleshooting, and usage of our media, audio, video, streaming, and lighting equipment.
The Worship & Technical Arts Minister will lead and care for Praise Band, Audio/Visual, and Streaming team members. This person will also be responsible for the maintenance, care, and troubleshooting of all technical equipment involved in worship. They
will be a learner, able to discern how developing technology can best be utilized to uphold our vision and values in worship.
The right candidate will have the gifts and capacity to be a leader of leaders. They will partner with the pastors in worship planning, and work alongside volunteer team leaders to offer vision, guidance, support and training. Worship Minister and Technical
Arts Ministry can be separated as separate part-time jobs if the right candidates apply but wish to only have part-time employment.
